end pin
End pin with metal sleeve for pearls upwards of 6.0 mm Ø.
1) Drilling the cultured pearl
The pearl is drilled with a special twist drill bit Ø 2.5 (568199) for the end piece to a depth of 5.0
to 5.5 mm. The drill bit is fitted with a shoulder to ensure the depth is always correct.
2) Gluing the metal sleeve in place
The metal sleeve is glued in place with a little adhesive (UHU 2 part adhesive). No glue must be
allowed to get into the notch and the sleeve must sit flush with the pearl.
3) Fitting the end pin
Then the end pin is fitted into the pearl. This is threaded in with the thread including the spring
and drawn into the pearl, then tied off.
