A cross hole of 8 mm in the cutting gauge is used to hold the mounting when working with it, holding it with one hand. This hole is blocked by the multi-function clamp attached to the workbench. In this case, the length stop adapter provices an additional hole to allow the length stop to be attached to the clamp.
When profiles are cut the length serially on the saw plate, the length stop can also be attached to the profile clamping plate using the same adapter.
Likewise, the adapter serves to swivel the precision saw support, which can be helpful when sawing contoured shapes.
