DensityScreenScale
In principle, the same principles apply to determining the authenticity of bars from around 50/100 g as for smaller bars. First, one examines the weight, dimensions and ideally the density. Because, especially with larger objects, there are often no standardized standard dimensions and therefore density measurement is often unavoidable.
If the density or the “pseudo-density” (dimensions & weight) is correct, many types of counterfeiting can be ruled out. As a result, only alloys that have the same density as the respective precious metal come into question as counterfeit materials.
Density Scale
Precision density scale - DensityScreenScale
With the DensityScreenScales, you have the means to quickly determine the precise density of all sorts of materials. Therefore, the scales are perfectly suited to examine bars, jewellery or coins for their purity and alloy composition. In this way, gold bars with foreign metals of different densities or alloys can be detected quickly: for example bars, coins or pieces of jewellery “stretched” or under-alloyed with silver or copper, which are otherwise very difficult to distinguish from real gold.
The DensityScreenScale is the universal solution to this question because regarding the density, a gilded brass ingot differs extremely from the one of pure gold. The density is determined by the tried and tested method by Archimedes. To do so, the object is weighed with a filter under water, then “normally” and then the measurement is already done! These two different values allow you to immediately establish the density using a simple formula for your calculator.
Carrying out the measurement is very easy and the density's value is quickly established. This allows you an insight into the quality and carat number of gold or also first clues for eventual forgings. The density establishment of geometrically very uneven objects are therefore no problem. Besides ingots and coins, you can easily examine cuttlery, candlesticks or picture frames for their specific weight. Just fill the scales' container with water and you can already start. After the realised measurement, you can calculate the density within seconds.
Properties:
• Density scales for establishing the density of (precious) metal
• Can measure objects of up to 1.5 kg
• Density establishment according to Archimedes' principle
• Fast estimation of karatage (possilbe in only 1 minute)
• Including density calulation tool for easier use
• Universal testing method - also uneven geometries or surfaces are no problem
