Niessing Ring Expanding and Reducing Machine

The “Niessing” ring-adjusting machine is a highly practical and efficient device that automatically adjusts wedding rings to the desired size using calibrated measuring discs. The large ball-shaped handles allow ring resizing with minimal physical effort.

Expanding
Insert the appropriate expansion mandrel into the base plate and rotate it 90°. The markings on both the base plate and the mandrel must align during insertion. Slide a measuring disc with the desired ring size over the mandrel. The upper number on the disc corresponds to the required ring size. Place the ring onto the mandrel and position a copper ring on top. (The mandrel should be lightly greased.) By turning the spindle downward, the ring expands to the selected size. Then lift the expanded ring and the measuring disc by turning the spindle upward and using the extraction hooks. Afterwards, turn the ring over and repeat the process. When expanding by several ring sizes, proceed step by step and change the measuring disc every three sizes.

Reducing
First remove the expansion mandrel and extraction hooks, then install the spring head. Press the reducing punch into the spring head and use the reducing plate to narrow the ring. When selecting the hole, ensure that the ring protrudes only slightly from the plate to avoid damage. The ring can now be pressed into the hole using the reducing punch. Afterwards, turn the ring over and repeat the process. (The reducing plate should always be lightly oiled.)
