rhodium bath
Rhodium Bath Rhoduna Diamond Bright
The rhodium concentrate is used for the decorative surface coating of e.g. jewellery, watches and spectacle frames. It produces a hitherto unattained brightness and brilliance, extremely abrasion-resistant deposit. Layer thicknesses of up to 5 µm can be deposited.
The rhodium bath is used in a conventional electroplating unit. The free acid content is 22 g/l for a new bath. It increases during the service life and with repeated regeneration. This reduces the deposition rate, but this can be compensated by extending the exposure time.
Technical data:
Rhodium content 2.0 g/l
Temperature 40 °C
Deposition rate 0.08 µm/min at 1 A/dm2 / 0.10 µm/min at 2 A/dm2
Voltage 2.0 volts (for Pt/Ti anodes)
Current density 1-2 A/dm2 (0.5 - 10 A/dm2)
Deposition 9.4mg at 1 A/dm2 / 5.9mg at 2 A/dm2
pH < 1
Movement Electrolyte or product movement
Anodes Titanium, platinised
Tank material Glass, acid res. Plastic (PP, PVC, etc.)
Layer thickness max. approx. 3 - 5 µm
Hardness approx. 800 - 900 HV
Scope of delivery: 100ml concentrate + 100ml additional solution for 1 litre bath.
