The corners of the gemstones themselves, as well as the corners of the settings, are critical areas, especially when setting angular gemstones such as Princess Cut diamonds. In order to avoid damaging the corners of the gemstones when fitting them into square bezel settings, for example, it makes sense to optimise the corners of the setting to the geometry of the gemstones. The figure 2K-AU, with its smooth face, offers an optimum solution for this work step. The smooth, non-toothed face avoids unwanted milling contacts in the axial direction. Existing polished edges in the axial direction are therefore not damaged by the use of the 2K-AU.

Furthermore, the figure 2K-AU can also be used to cut out or separate the individual grains during grain setting, as well as to remove the bars between neighbouring gemstones.

As part of the AU series, the 2K-AU figure also has a gold shank ring. It is made of hot isostatically compressed fine grain carbide, which allows the stone setter to work with a wide range of hard materials such as white gold, platinum, titanium or jeweller's steel.
