INCA shock protection block

The INCA shock protection block is a central element of the Incabloc shock protection system, which is used in mechanical watch movements to protect the sensitive balance staff. This assembly consists of several precision-manufactured components that work together to absorb shocks and stabilize the balance wheel.

• Chaton (stone setting) – metal setting that holds the jewel and secures it in the movement.
• Jewel – bearing stone with a cylindrical hole in which the balance staff runs.
• Cap stone – flat stone that limits the axial movement of the staff and supports the oil retention.
• Shock protection spring (lyre spring) – flexible spring in the shape of a lyre that holds the jewel and cap jewel elastically and allows them to spring back in the event of shocks.

These components are designed to deflect briefly in the event of a shock and then return to their original position without impairing the function of the balance wheel.
